Dear Simon:
If you've just hit your "funny bone," you're probably not laughing! But what is funny is
that your "funny bone" isn't really a bone at all. It's simply the place where the ulnar nerve
crosses the surface of the long bone in your arm. And know what that bone is called? Interestingly
enough -- it's called the humerus! When you bend your elbow, the nerve is exposed. If you
happen to hit it there, you're likely to feel a tingling all the way down your arm. And that
probably won't feel like a laughing matter!
Signed,
Wendell
