I'm left-handed. It doesn't seem like there are many of us out there. How come?
Signed, Lefty

Dear Lefty:

You're right. There are more right-handed people out there than left-handed people. But scientists don't really know why. There was a time when some people would coax little kids into becoming right-handed because they thought that was more 'normal.' But people don't do that any more. Scientists don't know much about this topic. What they do know is that it's your brain which determines whether you're right handed or left-handed, and that there are fewer lefties than righties. Maybe some day, you'll become the scientist who does the research and figures out why!?!

Signed,

Wendell
