I had x-rays taken. How can they see inside my body?
Signed, Jillian

Dear Jillian:

Good question! X-rays are really a kind of electromagnetic ray which can, in effect, "shine" through your flesh. When the ray hits the hard stuff, or bones, in your body, it makes a show which appears on the photographic plate behind it. X-rays are remarkably valuable tools at helping doctors "see" inside your body! Jillian, humans look so cool in x-rays. Too bad, we worms don't have bones!

Signed,

Wendell
