Wanna scare the daylights out of your buddies behind your back? Turn your basic backpack into a
Nasty Knapsack!
What You Need:
- A plain-colored backpack (tan or khaki canvas works thebest)
- 2 Rubber snakes (any toy store should have 'em)
- Old Action Figures (the soft plastic or rubber kind)
- Sharp scissor (hae an adult help you out)
- Needle with a big eye and heavy thread or dental floss
- Permanent markers (at least black and red)
What to Do:
- Start out by drawing spiders, flies, and any otherinsect that suits your fancy all over your
backpack. You might even want to sketch a web in there.
- Now pull the arms and legs off of your action figures (very hard plastic dolls will not work
for this). Make a very small slit in the part of your knapsack that faces out and put an arm or leg
through it with the hand or foot on the outside. Then use the needle and thick thread to sew the
rubber extremity onto the bag from the INSIDE. Put as many limbs as you want all over your pack and
then use the red markerto draw dripping and pooling blood around them.
- Finally, sew the snakes to the front of the straps. Use the floss or some thick thread and sew
the ends of the snake to the top and bottom of the straps. Then go back and put a few stitches
through your snake's middle edges into the strap. The flatter the snake, the easier this will be.
(A little help from your Mom wouldn't hurt, either.) If this doesn't sicken your schoolmates,
nothing will!
