Sometimes you just want to be invisible to everyone. And here's a perfect activity for just such an
occasion!
What you'll need:
- lemon juice
- water
- cotton swabs
- note paper
What to do:
- Mix a tablespoon of water with a tablespoon of lemon juice.
- Dip a cotton swab into the water-juice mixture (they will serve as your "pen" and "ink"). Then
use the swab to write your message on the paper.
- With a regular pen, write a simple instruction on how to "decode" your message. Tell your
friend to hold the note near a lit light bulb. As the lemon juice heats up, your message will
appear like magic!
What happens:
Lemon juice contains carbon compounds. As the juice heats up next to the bulb, the compounds
breaks down to form carbon, a black substance. Then your secret message is revealed and no longer a
secret!
