Pomander balls look good and smell even better!

What you'll need:
  • oranges, lemons, limes, or grapefruits
  • box of whole cloves
  • powdered cinnamon and nutmeg (one teaspoon of each)
  • wide shallow bowl
  • small paper bag
  • thin nail
  • narrow ribbon or netting material (like an onion bag)
What To Do:
  1. Using the nail, poke holes all over a piece of fruit.

  2. Gently press a whole clove, stem first, into each hole.

  3. Mix powdered cinnamon and nutmeg in the paper bag, then carefully roll your piece of fruit in the spice mixture. Shake off any excess spice.

  4. Place the fruit in the shallow bowl and repeat with your other fruits. Allow them to air-dry for about 24 hours.

After the pomanders are dry, you can leave them in the bowl as a table centerpiece. Or use your ribbons and netting to tie the fruits up and hang as delightful decorations. Either way, they'll refresh your guests as natural air fresheners.
